London 2012 Olympics

I was delighted to learn today that Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson, one of Britain's greatest Paralympians and Vice-Chair of the London 2012 Sports Advisory Group, will be joining me in the House of Lords. Dame Tanni, who won 11 Paralympic gold medals and set more than 20 world records, has been appointed as a Crossbench (non-party political) peer.

Dame Tanni hopes to bring her wealth of experience and knowledge to the House. I'm sure that everyone will wish her well in her new career.
